Francisco Juan Bazterrica Jauregui, or Francisco Bazterrica, was born in Argentina in 1961.

 

Self-taught artist, since his early childhood carries out his firsts exhibits in Buenos Aires in 1981, at the age of 19.

His style is a blend of surrealism, with a dab of Naif, magical realism, and some abstract and symbolism.

 

He studied the national career on drawing and painting in the superior school of Bs. As. Prilidiano Pueyrredón, during the late 1980´s, having partaked in multiple individual displays in the country.

 

Later on, during the 90´s, he takes part in 4 international art gallery fairs; FIA (Caracas, Venezuela),  ARTEBA. (Bs. Argentina), ARTMIAMI (Miami, U.S.A.) and ARCO (Madrid, Spain.)


Apart from participating in various contests, individual and public shows in Argentina, Urugüay, Venezuela, United States and Spain, he relocated to Tenerife, Canary Islands in the early 2000´s where he resides to this day.

 

He has put his art to show more than 70 times, most of the times individually.

 

Many people have paintings from him on their possesion, mainly from Spain and Argentina.

Apart from paintings, he carries out sculptures and murals. Presently he utilizes acrylic paint for all of his creations, having experimented with other techniques like oil painting, India ink, aquarelle, pastel… etcetera.

 

His palette is full of depth, almost culminating on a tridimensional effect on some of the artworks. And an almost infinite combination of hues and colours than invite to reflection on most of them. Themes almost always encouraging a more conscious and nature-loving humanity.

 

Heavenly wings show me the way; between clouds and seagulls; between sun and land; soaring from my unsconscious; fumbling between souls and armours; searching for a path to freedom
